GuideHow to measure your ring size at home
The most reliable way to measure a ring size is to wrap a strip of paper around the finger, mark where it meets, and measure that length in millimetres. That figure is your finger circumference, and the ring size follows from it.
Why it matters before ordering
A made to order ring is shaped to one size from the very start. If the size is well off, adjusting it afterwards can disturb the pattern or a stone setting. Five minutes of measuring at the beginning saves a lot of trouble later.
Fingers also change size through the day. They are usually smallest in the morning, slightly larger by evening, and they swell in heat. In Bali that last point matters more than people expect, so measure in the afternoon rather than first thing.
Method 1: a strip of paper
- 01Cut a thin stripAbout a centimetre wide and long enough to wrap around the finger. Avoid anything elastic, it stretches and gives you a size that is too small.
- 02Wrap it around the fingerAt the exact spot the ring will sit. Snug, but not pressing into the skin.
- 03Mark where it overlapsPut a pen mark exactly where the end of the strip meets the part already wrapped around.
- 04Measure with a rulerFlatten it out and measure up to your mark, in millimetres. Repeat two or three times and take the figure that comes up most often.
Make sure the strip can pass over the knuckle, which is often wider than the base of the finger. If the difference is large, take a figure somewhere between the two.
Method 2: a ring that already fits
If you already own a ring that sits comfortably on the same finger, this is the most accurate route. Measure the inside diameter edge to edge with a ruler, then match it against the table below.
You can also lay the ring on a ruler, photograph it, and send us the picture. We will read it off for you.

UK, European, and Japanese sizing all use different scales, and shops in Indonesia often number things their own way. Rather than converting between systems and risking an error, send us the measurement in millimetres. That figure means the same thing everywhere.
Still unsure?
Being unsure is normal, especially if the ring is a surprise for someone else. Send us the figure you got over WhatsApp along with how you measured it, and we will sanity check it for you.
If you can come to the shop, measuring with a proper ring sizer takes a couple of minutes and removes all doubt.
